Responsible Drinking
Our products are made to be enjoyed by adults, in moderation. Here is what that commitment means in practice.
Isimbi Beverages SMC Limited makes alcoholic beverages. That comes with an obligation — to our customers, to their families and to the communities our products reach.
Age
Our products are for adults aged 18 years and above. We do not sell to, market to, or knowingly supply anyone below the legal drinking age, and we require the outlets that stock us to do the same. This website asks every visitor to confirm their age before entering.
Moderation
Alcohol affects everyone differently, and the same drink is not the same for every body. Drink slowly, eat beforehand, alternate with water, and know when to stop. If you find it difficult to stop, that is worth talking to a health professional about — it is a common experience and help is available.
Never drink and drive
There is no safe amount of alcohol before driving or riding. Arrange a driver, use a taxi or boda, or stay where you are. The same applies to operating machinery or working at height.
Pregnancy and medication
Alcohol is not safe during pregnancy or while trying to conceive. Alcohol also interacts with many medicines. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding or on medication, speak to a health worker before drinking.
How we market
- We market only to audiences we reasonably believe are of legal drinking age.
- We do not suggest that alcohol brings social, sexual or professional success.
- We do not depict excessive consumption, or drinking alongside driving or work.
- We do not use imagery, music or language aimed at children or adolescents.
- We show the alcohol strength and volume clearly on every label.
What we ask of our trade partners
- Hold a valid licence to sell alcohol and check the age of anyone who looks under 18.
- Refuse service to anyone already intoxicated.
- Display our products so that they are not marketed to children.
- Never repackage, dilute or misrepresent what is in the bottle.
